The first version of “Dominion Is” consisted of thirty 3′ X 4′ inkjet plots on wood structures dispersed in the wooded areas along Museum Road in Gaineville, Florida from March to April in 1994.
“Dominion Is” was meant to create signifier with multi-layered meaning. In addition to invoking concerns over local environmental issues and emergent surveillance technologies at the time, this project was produced shortly after the capture of Danny Rolling, The Gainesville Ripper.
